Boris van Hoytema


Helping society progress and create the future it wants, harnessing the ever-increasing pace of technological and social change, Boris is the kind of designer/developer that likes to update all kinds of legacy systems to be up to date with contemporary connected society. Working on the crossroads of tomorrow and the public good, he innovated for broadcast media corporations like the BBC and VPRO and started Google DNI funded linked data journalism startup New Atoms.

With the mission of growing an Open Source Ecosystem for cities Boris founded the Foundation For Public Code with Ben Cerveny, he is the Open Source Advisor to the City of Amsterdam, manages the collaborative software development efforts of the 9 North Sea Region SCORE cities as well as a host of other advisorships and maintainerships.
